Aims to increase the number of Turcorns in Türkiye to 13

According to the 2027 Presidential Annual Program, it is aimed to increase entrepreneurs' access to finance, improve their innovation capacity and increase their global competitiveness.

In this context, the annual venture investment size is expected to increase from 500 million dollars estimated for this year to 1 billion dollars next year. It is aimed to increase the number of Turcorns (unicorns) with a value exceeding 1 billion dollars to 13.

Activities ranging from the idea stage to the market will be supported to transform technology and innovation-oriented business ideas into initiatives that provide added value and qualified employment.

Calls will be opened within the scope of the Investment-Based Entrepreneurship Support Program for the establishment and growth of early stage companies that can develop innovative, high-tech products and services. The application, support and monitoring processes of the program will be carried out.

2 thousand 844 applications were made for TÜBİTAK's entrepreneurship support in the January-September period of this year. Last year, 210 entrepreneurs were supported, and the support amount transferred during the year was 255.12 million lira at 2026 fixed prices.

The R&D, innovation and digital transformation capacities of SMEs and entrepreneurs are supported with the Competitive Sectors Program carried out within the scope of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA). We contribute to the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem with common use and testing infrastructures.

During the IPA-II period, research, production, digital transformation and testing infrastructures were strengthened with 43 projects with a budget of approximately 260.1 million euros.

During the IPA-III period, 16 projects with a total budget of 58.5 million euros were programmed, focusing on the green and digital transformation of the industry, improving research and innovation capacity and strengthening the integration with the European Union value chains.
