Contribution of 75.5 million euros from YEKA RES2026 competitions
With a capacity of 1500 megawatts, the electricity needs of approximately 2 million households will be met and annual natural gas imports of 852 million dollars will be prevented.
Competitions were held for 7 YEKA allocated to wind energy, and in the competitions in which a total of 29 applications were made from 12 companies, 7 areas with a total capacity of 1500 megawatts were allocated in Sivas, Balıkesir, Manisa and Kütahya.
Companies that win the competition will be able to sell the electricity they produce in the free market for 72 months from the contract signing date. Then, the electricity produced for 20 years will be given to the transmission system at a price of 3.50 euro cents per kilowatt-hour.
Minister Bayraktar stated that as a result of the competitions, a total contribution fee of 75.5 million euros, including VAT, emerged, and said, "With the base price of 3.50 euro cents per kilowatt-hour and a total contribution fee of 75.5 million euros, including VAT, resulting from today's competitions, we will both reduce our electricity production costs and continue to bring renewable energy resources to our economy. With a total capacity of 1500 megawatts, 4.6 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity can meet the electricity needs of approximately 2 million households." "This will prevent the annual natural gas import of 852 million dollars."
Thanking the companies participating in the competitions, Bayraktar said:
"The competitions, which take place within a great competition, are of great importance in terms of showing the confidence and investor interest in the Turkish energy sector. I hope that these strategic capacities will be implemented as soon as possible and put at the service of our country."
