Fenerbahçe Coach İsmail Kartal resigned

Speaking at the press conference held after the friendly match in which the yellow-dark blue team drew 1-1 with Roma, Kartal started his speech by stating that he would not take questions.

Reminding that he has been on duty for about three months, the experienced coach said, "The training and camps I have done with my players from the beginning of the season until today... Our president and managers tried to help us in everything. They were very good days. As of this evening, I congratulate my players and resign from my position." he said.

Kartal thanked everyone who contributed to him throughout the process and said:

"I would like to thank all my fans, members of the media, my staff, my fellow players who have supported me so far. I will not take questions. I resigned this evening. I made such a decision to pave the way for my club, we made the decision with our team. Making a statement to the press after the match, Fenerbahçe Club President Aziz Yıldırım supported coach İsmail Kartal and called for unity in the community. Emphasizing that Kartal is on duty, Yıldırım said:

Fenerbahçe Club announced that the fan who threw a water bottle at coach İsmail Kartal during the match against the Italian team Roma in the first week of the UEFA Champions League was banned from attending.

In the statement made on the club's social media account, "The identity of the person who committed the bottle-throwing action against our coach İsmail Kartal during the match we played against AS Roma on our home field in the Champions League was identified and his statement was taken upon the instructions of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. A measure of banning the person from attendance was imposed within the scope of Law No. 6222." It was said.
