Health assessments were made to more than 4 million elderly people in nine months
The Ministry of Health made a statement on the occasion of October 1, World Elderly Day.
In the statement, it was stated that aging is one of the natural periods of life and that the health needs of individuals may change as they get older, and that, in addition to chronic diseases, vision and hearing problems, mobility difficulties, falls, nutritional problems and changes in cognitive functions can be seen more frequently in older ages.
In the statement, it was noted that adopting healthy living habits from an early age, performing regular health checks and identifying risk factors in a timely manner contribute to individuals living an active and independent life in older ages.
Within the scope of the Disease Management Platform (HYP) application developed by the Ministry of Health for the effective management of chronic diseases, the statement included the following statements:
"During the evaluation, the health conditions of elderly individuals are taken into consideration by taking into account more than 20 parameters, and the required health services are determined. When deemed necessary, individuals are directed to hospitals or healthy life centers to benefit from advanced examination, treatment and consultancy services. Comprehensive health evaluations of more than 4 million elderly individuals were carried out by family physicians and family health workers in the first nine months of the year."
In the statement, it was reminded that the "Healthy Aging Centers (LIFE) Circular" was published on March 30, 2023 in order to facilitate the access of elderly individuals to health services, and it was stated that within the scope of the circular, the medical care needs of individuals aged 80 and over are determined at home and on-site, their health conditions are monitored, examination and consultancy are provided with remote health services when necessary, and the coordination of transfer processes between the hospital and home is provided.
In the statement, it was stated that the service delivery was carried out in integration with home health teams and that 266 thousand people were served since the start of the application.
With the e-Report system implemented as of May 2025, it was stated that the renewal processes of food, medicine, diaper and medical device reports of citizens aged 80 and over and bedridden citizens have been facilitated. "Citizens who need to renew their reports are called by home health teams without the need to make an appointment, and the necessary evaluations are made by visiting them at their homes or public nursing homes on the determined appointment date. The reports deemed appropriate as a result of the evaluation are renewed face to face or through the Remote Patient Evaluation System.
