Huge crowds watch attempt to rescue shark stranded in South Korean canal

Huge crowds have flocked to a canal in South Korea to watch a stranded shark.

The 9ft 10in (3m) shark, nicknamed Bukangi, was first spotted in the waterway last month in the south-eastern city of Busan.

Early on Thursday morning local time, South Korea's oceans ministry said the shark had been successfully guided out of the canal. By Friday however, it was still lingering at the canal's entrance, local media reported.

It is thought that the shark may have been drawn to the canal by unusually warm water and plenty of fish.

The BBC's Seoul correspondent Jake Kwon goes to Busan to follow the latest attempt to rescue Bukangi, who has since been successfully guided out of the canal.
