Minister Memişoğlu: We will produce our ultrasound devices in these lands

Minister Memişoğlu, in his speech at the 12th Turkish Medical World Congress and TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science, Service and Incentive Awards Ceremony, held in Rixos Shipyard Istanbul with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said that great developments have been made in the field of health in Türkiye in the last quarter century.

Stating that Türkiye is in the top league of the healthcare world with more than 1500 hospitals and 1.5 million healthcare workers, Memişoğlu stated that they have brought 28 of the city hospitals that President Erdoğan called "my dream" to the country, and that the construction of 11 city hospitals and the project work of 11 city hospitals are continuing.

Memişoğlu stated that under the leadership of President Erdoğan, they have carried this strong infrastructure further with science, technology and production, and that Türkiye will now have its signature in the health technologies of the future, and said:

"We are realizing a healthy Türkiye with our health model that protects, develops and produces. We are making the health industry one of the locomotive sectors of our country. We export our domestic respirators to 45 countries and our automatic shock devices to 16 countries. We are expanding our domestic x-ray devices and intensive care monitors in our hospitals. Hopefully, at the end of two years, we will produce our ultrasound devices, all parts of which will be domestic, in these lands. I hope to carry out clinical research on the promising drug in the treatment of brain tumors, developed by Aziz Sancar Hodja, in our country." "There is a Turkey that develops the heart-lung machine, which only three countries can produce, with its own resources, with the knowledge and labor of the children of this country. There is a Turkey that produces its own ambulance helicopter GÖKBEY, develops its technology and builds its future. Our goal is clear, to develop our own device, medicine and vaccine, to offer it to the service of humanity and to be a fully independent Türkiye in healthcare."

Calling on everyone who says "I have an idea" in the field of health, Memişoğlu said, "You know, the old saying 'Don't invent things for us.' They used to say, we say, 'Come and invent things for us.' Let's write Türkiye's new success stories in health technologies together. 'I will say something new in health, I have an idea.' I invite everyone who says so to meet at 'uretensaglik.gov.tr'. We are a nation that carries healing and goodness at the core of its civilization. We must work harder and produce more to increase goodness and provide more benefit to humanity. Because every technology we produce, every medicine we develop and every new solution we find will be a healing hand reaching out to humanity." he said.

Minister of Health Memişoğlu stated that they want to spread the culture of healthy living in society while providing the best health services in the world, and said:

"We want our citizens to demand not only treatment but also health from us. Because our job is not only to treat diseases, but to protect health. We are the Ministry of Health, not disease. We fight obesity, inactivity and especially tobacco use to protect public health. We work to keep our children and young people away from this disease by reducing the visibility of tobacco and tobacco products. Let's not forget that health is the greatest wealth of man. It is the responsibility of all of us to protect this wealth."

Memişoğlu thanked President Erdoğan for his support to health, science and domestic production, and congratulated the scientists who received the awards, stating that under Erdoğan's leadership, they will continue to work for a strong Turkey that produces its own technology and heals humanity.
