More than 12 million people were reached with the Health Literacy National Action Plan

According to the statement made by the Ministry, the theme of the third day of Public Health Week was determined as "Protect Your Health with Vaccination".

Vaccination services aim to prevent the emergence of vaccine-preventable diseases, especially in infants and children, and to protect the general health level of the society.

While routine vaccination is carried out against 13 diseases within the scope of the childhood immunization program, the National Vaccination Calendar is updated in line with scientific developments and the needs of the society.

In this context, the Tdab vaccine, which contains tetanus toxoid, diphtheria toxoid and acellular pertussis components, began to be administered to pregnant women in April 2025. In the same period, the transition from a five-component combination vaccine to a six-component combination vaccine was made.

The "Health Literacy National Action Plan (2025-2028)" is also being implemented in order for citizens to access accurate health information, evaluate the information and make correct health-related decisions.

In addition to preventing diseases and developing healthy living habits, the priorities of the plan include combating disinformation, disseminating accurate health information, establishing health literacy standards in health services, and increasing the level of health literacy approach of healthcare professionals.

Since the launch of the Health Literacy National Action Plan, 12 million 182 thousand 293 people have been directly reached through training, seminars, stands and field information activities held in 81 provinces.

The studies were carried out in areas where different segments of the society can be reached, such as schools, health institutions, public education centers, mosques, barracks, prisons, nursing homes, children's homes, youth centers and shopping malls.
