The era of electronic consent for medical interventions has begun
The "Regulation on Obtaining Informed Consent Electronically" prepared by the Ministry of Health came into force after being published in the Official Gazette.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, the regulation enabled the informed consent procedures obtained before medical interventions to be carried out electronically within the scope of digitalization in health services.
Thus, transactions that have been carried out on paper and with wet signatures until now can also be carried out electronically, and citizens will be able to access these records via e-Nabız.
Within the scope of the new regulation, citizens will be able to review the informed consent forms presented to them before medical interventions directly from their e-Nabız accounts and declare their consent electronically.
In all processes, the identity of the patient applying to the healthcare facility and the relevant healthcare professional who carries out the process of obtaining informed consent will be verified before medical intervention.
Within the scope of the new regulation, citizens will be able to give their informed consent with a single-use verification code sent to their mobile phones.
Citizens who have difficulty using digital systems or need support due to health conditions or disabilities will be able to complete their transactions by transmitting the verification code sent to their mobile phones to the authorized personnel at the health facility.
Informed consent forms received electronically will be transferred to the Ministry's central data recording system and made available to citizens via e-Nabız.
