Türkiye aims to strengthen cooperation for health systems at COP31
"Health Day" will be held on November 9 within the scope of COP31, which will be held in Antalya on November 9-20, 2026, hosted by Türkiye.
Health will be addressed as the 10th Action Agenda priority in the COP31 Action Agenda under the title "Dynamic and Resilient Health Systems".
Türkiye will also launch the Antalya Resilient Health Systems Initiative (AIR) within the scope of COP31's "Implementation COP" vision. The initiative aims to transform scientific evidence, international experiences and good practices into concrete policies and measurable actions, transfer successful practices to different countries and increase the resilience of health systems against climate risks.
Aziz Alper Biten, Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Health, made evaluations about Türkiye's COP31 health agenda at the event held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, within the scope of the UNFCCC Fourth Climate Week.
Biten stated that they will create an important agenda in the field of health within the scope of COP31 and stated that Türkiye included health on the COP agenda for the first time.
Stating that they will implement AIR in addition to the work to be carried out on Health Day, Biten said that this will be an international platform where countries can share their experiences and good practices in the field of health with each other.
Biten said, "Our aim is to tell the whole world and other health ministers about our examples of good practices in the field of health. Thus, to ensure that a country with experience can help another country faster with its own experiences." he said.
