Two killed in attack on airport in eastern Saudi Arabia, authorities say
Yemen's Houthi movement has said it carried out an attack on an airport in eastern Saudi Arabia on Wednesday evening, which Saudi authorities said killed two people and injured eight others.
The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation identified those killed at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam as a Saudi citizen and an Indian resident.
It did not say what type of attack occurred, but the Iran-backed Houthis said on Thursday that the airport was one of the sites they had targeted with drones and missiles over the previous 48 hours.
Two more people were killed on Wednesday morning by debris from a drone that was intercepted elsewhere in Eastern Province, the Saudi energy ministry said.
The drone was intercepted as it attempted to target a processing facility owned by Saudi Arabia's state oil company Aramco in the Shaybah oil field, where a contractor's vehicle was set ablaze, according to the ministry.
The Houthis' military spokesman, Yahya Sarea, did not claim the attack on the oil field.
