211 billion dollars in Turkish exports in 9 months

According to information compiled from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) data, September exports increased by 15.4 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 26 billion dollars and breaking a record.

Exports for the January-September period increased by 5.2 percent to 211 billion dollars, and exports in the last 12 months increased to 283.7 billion dollars, breaking records in both areas.

Looking at the distribution of exports by sectors, it was seen that 18 out of 26 sectors managed to increase their exports in 9 months of the year.

The highest export increase was in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector, where exports of 42 percent and 3.2 billion dollars were made. This sector was followed by ships, yachts and services with an increase of 35 percent and 2 billion dollars, mining products with 20 percent and 5.4 billion dollars, hazelnuts and their products with 19 percent and 1.9 billion dollars, and defense and aviation industry with 16 percent and 6.9 billion dollars.

In the said period, the export increase was 930 million dollars in tobacco, 14.7 billion dollars in electricity and electronics, 14 percent in ferrous and non-ferrous metals with 11.2 billion dollars, 11 percent in jewelry with 6.9 billion dollars, 8 percent in aquatic products and animal products with 3.1 billion dollars, 6 percent in chemicals and products with 25.8 billion dollars, and 6 percent in the automotive industry. It was 3 percent at 31.1 billion dollars.

Exports increased by 2 percent each in steel with 12.7 billion dollars, in machinery and parts with 8.2 billion dollars, in textiles and raw materials with 7.2 billion dollars, in cement, glass, ceramics and soil products with 3.4 billion dollars, and in the air conditioning industry by 1 percent with 5.5 billion dollars.

Carpet exports increased from 2 billion 16.6 million dollars to 2 billion 17.2 million dollars.

The number of sectors whose exports decreased on an annual basis in the January-September period was 8.
