28 thousand 456 children benefited from ANKA Child Support Program
ANKA Child Support Program, which has been implemented since 2014, was initially carried out in Specialized Children's Home Sites.
The scope of the program, which was developed in line with the impact analysis results and field experiences, was expanded and started to be implemented in all child care institutions affiliated with the Ministry as of this year.
The program aims to reduce children's trauma and behavioral problems resulting from negative experiences they have had in the past, and to strengthen their harmony with their families and social environments.
Taking into account the individual differences and needs of children, studies are carried out to support their development, reduce the effects of traumatic experiences and enable them to acquire positive attitudes and behaviors.
The program, which is carried out within the scope of ANKA 3.0 by strengthening the training modules, application guides, evaluation tools and IT infrastructure, was implemented to 8 thousand 376 children in the first nine months of this year, and 28 thousand 456 children have benefited so far.
Individual Needs and Risk Assessment Form (BIRDEF) is applied to determine children's needs and risk areas. In line with the evaluation results, individual counseling, group studies and cooperation with the family are planned.
During the psychosocial support process, each child is assigned a counselor who has received special training in the program. The child's educational background, health status, family relationships and social environment are evaluated by the consultant. Depending on the child's needs, information such as possible history of abuse, addiction or delinquency is also taken into consideration.
A child-specific intervention plan is prepared in line with the data obtained. It is aimed to support the child's development, family relations and adaptation to the social environment through individual counseling, group studies and family studies.
