4.8 million tons of oil equivalent savings will be achieved through energy efficiency

Efforts to use energy efficiently in all areas will continue without slowing down.

In this context, energy savings, which are expected to be 3 million 940 thousand tons of oil equivalent in 2026, are estimated to reach 4 million 840 thousand tons of oil equivalent in 2027.

Thus, the annual energy savings provided by energy efficiency studies are expected to increase by 900 thousand tons of oil equivalent.

In addition, practices to make public buildings more efficient will continue.

In this regard, it is planned to carry out monitoring studies in 2,700 buildings within the scope of the 30 percent energy saving target set for 2030 in public buildings and to provide training to at least 500 people in order to increase the institutional capacity of public institutions and organizations in the field of energy efficiency.

On the other hand, studies will be carried out to increase the number of qualified personnel needed in the energy sector, and cooperation with higher education institutions abroad will be developed in this field.

Within the scope of increasing energy efficiency, studies on heat market legislation will be completed.

In addition, the use of regional heating and cooling systems and heat pumps will be expanded in technically and economically suitable places, and studies will be carried out to increase geothermal source heating.
