A new era begins in Ankara Ulus

In his statement on his social media account, Minister Çiftçi stated that they are working to make Ankara the city of peace and trust, and the capital of history and culture.

Stating that they started a new era in Ulus, Çiftçi noted that they took a "scalpel" to the structures that are not suitable for the spiritual and cultural texture of the region, disrupt the peace of the citizens and threaten the security.

In his statement, Çiftçi stated, "We are uncompromisingly carrying out the demolition of all structures and swamps that operate against the legislation and damage the historical identity in the transformation area covering Ulus, Çankırı Street and İsmetpaşa District. We will not tolerate any activity that does not suit the spiritual climate of His Holiness Hacı Bayram-ı Veli."

Referring to the efforts to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the region, Çiftçi said that they unearthed the heritage including Hacı Bayram-ı Veli Tomb, Temple of Augustus, Historical Roman Bath, Ankara Castle, 1st Parliament Building and the historical King's Road.

"We plan to bring a modern police station and provincial headquarters to Ulus in order to permanently establish the security and peace of the region. By integrating all these investments with an uninterrupted Culture Road route, we will open Ankara's thousands of years of ancient history to world tourism. Ulus will be a decent, safe center of attraction that integrates with its historical texture, and befits our capital."
