AİLEM Barrier-Free Communication Center provided translation support for more than 335 thousand calls

Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş emphasized that AİLEM Barrier-Free Communication Center provides an important service in order to meet the communication needs of hearing-impaired individuals who use Turkish Sign Language. Stating that AİLEM Barrier-Free Communication Center provides the opportunity for hearing-impaired individuals to provide the communication they need with public institutions and organizations and in their social lives, Minister Göktaş said: "With AİLEM Barrier-Free Communication Center, we offer fast and accessible solutions to the communication needs of our citizens who use Turkish Sign Language. Our AİLEM Barrier-Free Communication Center has 54 thousand 788 registered users. Our hearing-impaired individuals can communicate in all areas of life, from education to employment, from health services to banking transactions, from family communication to transactions with public institutions." "To date, 335 thousand 288 calls have been answered through the center and our FAMILY Barrier-Free Communication Center can be accessed via the web via iOS and Android mobile applications."

He reminded that AİLEM Barrier-Free Communication Center is available not only to hearing-impaired individuals, but also to hearing individuals who want to reach a hearing-impaired client, patient, parent or customer.

Göktaş said, “We see AİLEM Barrier-Free Communication Center as a strong and meaningful communication bridge between our citizens who use Turkish Sign Language and other members of the society.” he said.
