Applications for the National Internship Program started today

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan gave information about the National Internship Program.

Minister Işıkhan announced that applications for the National Internship Program have started as of today with the title "Dear young people, we have good news for you".

Işıkhan said, "You can seize internship opportunities in public institutions and the private sector, and shape your career life by gaining experience."

The National Internship Program is an early career program carried out under the auspices of the Presidency, with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and under the coordination of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) in order to ensure that our young human resources benefit from the career opportunities provided by public institutions and private sector organizations. Through the program; It is aimed to increase the employability of our young people, to support equal opportunities in accessing career opportunities and to expand these opportunities to all university departments.

Students applying for the National Internship Program; They are evaluated with a transparent and innovative method based on academic/vocational, artistic/social and sports proficiency scores, taking into account their academic performance, activities aimed at improving their skills and general success. Employers submit internship offers objectively, based on the scores they receive in the fields of competence (academic/vocational, artistic/social and sports) without seeing the identity and university information of the applicants.

In addition to its success at home, the Programme, which is followed with admiration abroad and cited as an exemplary practice by the OECD, provides many young people with the opportunity to experience business life while they are still students and gain early career awareness.

The National Internship Program offers students three basic career development opportunities: internship, job shadowing and training.

Internship is an applied professional work carried out by higher education students within an institution or business to improve their professional knowledge, skills and attitudes, to get to know the sector and to adapt to business life.
