Badr Memorandum of Understanding meets the defense industry capabilities of four countries

"Bedir Memorandum of Understanding" was signed between Türkiye, Qatar, Pakistan and Indonesia in order to develop defense industry capacities and implement joint projects.

According to the statement made by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), with the memorandum of understanding signed in Doha, the capital of Qatar, it is aimed for the 4 countries to carry out joint projects in the field of military production and to increase cooperation in technical training and research and development activities.

The memorandum of understanding was signed on behalf of Türkiye by Minister of National Defense Güler and President of the Presidency of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün.

At the agreement, Qatar was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hasan Al Thani, Pakistan was represented by Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammed Asif, and Indonesia was represented by Deputy Defense Minister Yusuf Jauhar.

Görgün, whose evaluation was included in the statement, emphasized that the memorandum was of strategic importance in terms of the cooperation approach developed by Türkiye with allied countries.

Stating that Türkiye's international partnerships in the field of defense industry are not limited to platform and system supply, Görgün said:

"We consider the Badr Memorandum of Understanding as a strategic cooperation basis that brings together the competencies of our countries in the field of defense industry and expands joint production and technology development opportunities. The approach we adopt as Turkey in the defense industry is to produce together, develop together and grow stronger together by sharing our knowledge, engineering capabilities and experiences, beyond just offering products to our friendly and allied countries."

Stating that the engineering, design, production and system integration capabilities that the Turkish defense industry has achieved in recent years offer important opportunities for international partnerships, Görgün said:
