Budget marathon begins in the Parliament. Is Türkiye Great?

The General Assembly, which will start its weekly work on Tuesday, October 20, will continue the discussions on the Turkish Red Crescent Law Proposal.

With the proposal, the first three articles of which are accepted, the Turkish Red Crescent will be the only authorized organization for the receipt and use of in-kind and cash aid coming to Türkiye in ordinary or extraordinary situations from the International Federation of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, the International Red Cross Committee and the Red Crescent and Red Cross National Societies of the countries.

Cash compensation will also be paid to the personnel who actually work in the activity area to carry out the activities of the Turkish Red Crescent Society during extraordinary periods and times of disaster, war and conflict.

In the provinces and districts where Red Crescent branches and representations are located, the Red Crescent provincial central branch president and district branch heads will also be members of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation board of trustees.

The Bill on Certain Investment Funds, whose liquidation was decided upon at the General Assembly, will also be discussed.

With the proposal, the liquidation of the funds will be carried out by the institutions in charge of liquidation under the supervision and control of the CMB.

In the funds determined by the Board, an interim payment of this amount can be made from the liquidation assets of the relevant fund for investors with a net investment amount of less than 1 million Turkish lira, and a maximum of 1 million Turkish lira can be made for investors with a net investment amount of 1 million Turkish lira and above.

If the acts regulated in the provisions titled "market distortion acts", "information abuse", "market fraud" are committed by the funds decided to be liquidated by the CMB's decisions dated September 17, 2026, or if they act together with these funds or if they are committed with the participation of the funds, those who are determined by the Board to have committed these acts or acted together will not be paid from the liquidation and recovery account of these funds.
