Burhanettin Duran: The energy of the Black Sea, Turkey'
Director of Communications Duran stated that a new and strategic production capacity has been added to Türkiye's energy infrastructure.
Turkey's first floating production platform, Osman Gazi, will be sent off from Filyos to its place of duty in Mavi Vatan with a ceremony to be held today. Osman Gazi will serve for 20 years in the determined location in the Black Sea. This giant facility, which will process natural gas extracted from the sea and bring it to our national grid, will provide a new production capacity to our country's energy infrastructure.
With the launch of the platform, it is aimed to double the daily natural gas production in the Sakarya Gas Field to reach 20 million cubic meters, and the number of households whose natural gas needs are met with our domestic resources will increase from 4 million to 8 million. This strategic investment, which is expected to contribute 3.5 billion dollars annually to our country's economy, is of great importance in terms of strengthening our energy supply security and reducing our foreign dependency.
Under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in line with our Türkiye Century vision, we offer our resources deep in the Blue Homeland to the service of our nation, and we are one step closer to our goal of complete independence in energy. The energy of the Black Sea adds strength to Turkey's future.
