Devlet Bahçeli: Relationships of interest in municipalities are a lack of morality MHP Ge

In his speech at his party's Grand National Assembly Group Meeting, MHP Chairman Bahçeli touched upon the recent floods and floods in some cities, especially Istanbul, and wished God's mercy to the citizens who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to the injured.

In his speech, Bahçeli also touched upon corruption investigations in municipalities and stated that protecting state property is a great responsibility.

My dear fellow defendants, since last week, both the fund investigation and the judicial processes regarding corruption in municipalities, especially the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, have been continuing. The effectiveness of policies aimed at ensuring sustainable growth and price stability depends on the healthy functioning of the financial system. The development of capital markets requires that the markets reach sufficient depth, that the capital spreads to the base, and that the supervision and control function must be carried out in coordination in order for all financial markets to function in stability.

From the developments regarding the fund investigation, it is understood that illegal activities targeting the stability of the Turkish economy are carried out in an organized manner through market-distorting transactions, manipulation, fraud and abuse of trust. The strongest sanctions on legal grounds will undoubtedly be applied to those who covet the halal savings of our nation. As a matter of fact, I would like to state that we are pleased that the legal regulation on the subject is on the agenda of the General Assembly of the Parliament, one of the important steps taken towards revealing the criminals and eliminating the grievances, and the strong political will that will enlighten the issue in all its dimensions and hold those responsible accountable.

As I have emphasized before, these should be considered as an opportunity for purification, justification and addressing the underlying causes. Justice means protecting the innocent and protecting the rights of the victim, as well as punishing the guilty. Our President's accurate statement that the price of exorbitant earnings will be made to pay and that the state will not victimize anyone has increased the confidence in the administration of justice. Let our nation be safe; Even though we have some problems, the Turkish economy is on solid foundations. While our party defends the rights and laws of our nation, it will also follow the steps that will enable a fair income distribution, and the necessary moves will be made to meet the expectations of our low-income citizens.

As I stated in my written statement dated October 3, 2026; It is a great responsibility to carry the state property, which is the sum of the people's labor and sweat, on their shoulders. It is within the morality of the state that those who encroach on state property should be treated with justice. All kinds of relationships of interest in areas such as tenders, zoning, licenses, real estate, participation, personnel and public expenditures, starting from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and spreading to many municipalities, are not only a problem concerning criminal law, but also a lack of morality. While the trial processes are ongoing, it will be for the benefit of those concerned to respond to the allegations on legal grounds, instead of creating an artificial agenda with political polemics. Courts are places where the right to defense is based, not political demonstrations. Our nation follows the developments closely and expects justice to be served as soon as possible.
