Director of Communications Duran: Even though the routes have changed, our need for unity has never changed
Director of Communications Duran spoke at the opening of the "Turkish World Dialogue Forum" organized by the Directorate of Communications in Ankara.
Director of Communications Duran continued his speech by saying, "I am honored to be here with you today at the opening of the Turkish World Dialogue Forum, which we have implemented with the theme 'From Idea to Dialogue, Forward'. It is a matter of pride for us to host you in our capital Ankara, as we celebrate the 103rd anniversary of our Republic." He started with his words.
Underlining that the Turks are one of the oldest and most powerful nations in human history, having existed by building ancient civilizations, Duran said, "We have presented a vision of civilization to the world by establishing 16 empires and hundreds of states on three continents. This is only possible with a high-level organizational capacity." he said.
Pointing out that one of the prominent characteristics of the Turks for centuries is their ability to organize, Duran said, "The Organization of Turkish States is the last and largest example of our historical ability to organize. Today, we crown our existence that transcends continents with our commitment to each other." he said.
Director of Communications Duran said:
"As I begin my speech, I would like to remind you of a pleasant coincidence. The Meeting of Heads of State of Turkic Speaking Countries was held in this city for the first time in 1992, again on October 30. Over the past 30 years, our intense efforts have matured and turned into the Organization of Turkic States. Now, today, on the same date, we are establishing another strong idea and communication table next to the leaders' table. We hope that this table will exist for many more 30 years and serve the Turkish tradition in the field of communication. I hope so."
Reminding that Mahmud of Kashgar wrote Divanu Lugati't-Türk in Baghdad in the 11th century, Duran said, "He collected the dialects of the Turkish tribes in a single dictionary and placed a map at the beginning of the book. In that map, the Turkish tribes, with their homelands extending from the Far East to Anatolia, stand side by side on a single page." he said.
Noting that Mahmud of Kashgar reminded us that a geography that seemed scattered centuries ago was actually a whole, Duran said that the person who reopened this road in the modern age was İsmail Gaspiralı.
