Directorate of Communications will organize a panel on Türkiye's Climate Diplomacy

The opening speeches of the panel, which will be held in order to discuss Turkey's national policies and practices in the fight against climate change within the framework of international climate diplomacy and to evaluate the developments from the Zero Waste approach to the COP processes with a holistic perspective, will be made by the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum and Presidential Communications Director Prof. Dr. It will be made by Burhanettin Duran.

Turkey's fight against climate change and sustainable development goals, the place of Zero Waste practices in environmental and climate policies, circular economy and resource efficiency studies, and Turkey's position in international climate negotiations will be discussed within the scope of the program.

The finale of the Environment and Climate Media Program, in which the panel will be attended by academicians, journalists and representatives of non-governmental organizations who are experts in their fields, as well as members of the international press, will be held with this program.

In the panel, issues such as global temperature increases and extreme weather events that become visible with the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, ecosystem balance of climate change, sustainability of natural resources, zero waste studies will be evaluated.

In addition, the session will discuss interconnected environmental problems such as depletion of forest areas, habitat loss, water pressure and fragility of food systems, as well as international cooperation and the role of the COP31 platform in climate policies, which is vital due to its transboundary nature in combating this global crisis.
