'Disinformation' reaction from Cevdet Yılmaz: Politics is a matter of honesty

Vice President Yılmaz, in his statement on his NSosyal account, stated that politics is, above all, a matter of honesty and sincerity.

"How the speech I gave at a financial summit on December 11, 2025, was turned into disinformation by tweezing and taking it out of context is an example of an honest and disingenuous approach." Yılmaz said:

"Last night, a member of parliament participated in the disinformation and attacks, which are clearly spread from which circles. Anyone with minimal attention can easily understand that my speech is about misperceptions about a regulation aimed at abusers. As a matter of fact, with the amendment made to the provisional article 67 of the Income Tax Law and Article 3 of Law No. 7566, adopted on December 4, 2025, participation shares can only be sold to qualified investors and are registered with TEFAS. "The existing income tax exemption for profits received from non-existent funds (also called boss funds) was abolished. Thus, the profits derived from these funds became subject to income tax. The speech I made at a financial summit on December 11, 2025 was a speech that clarified this legal regulation made on December 4, and emphasized that it would not have any negative impact on those other than tax abusers."

Pointing out that he is in favor of sharing clearly and transparently what the regulations or measures aim at, Yılmaz stated the following:

"I would like to underline again the importance of economic communication in this sense. In order to avoid misperceptions, regulatory authorities should convey to the public in plain language what the regulations mean and which field they concern or affect. I advocate this yesterday and today. Otherwise, abusers or those who act unlawfully will be confused with those who work within the law, and legitimate investors and the system will be harmed. Today and tomorrow, we will continue to fight exploiters and manipulators to the end, protect the rights of legitimate investors and capital, which is a valuable component of our development efforts. "We will continue to protect our markets in general. I believe this is our common responsibility."
