DivriğiKarsGeorgian Border Railway Line will be modernized

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu, in his written statement, reminded that the tender announcement covering the design and construction works for the modernization work in question was published in the Official Gazette.

Stating that the project will be carried out in 4 separate sections: Divriği-Erzincan, Erzincan-Erzurum, Erzurum-Kars and Kars-Georgia border, Uraloğlu said:

"We will rehabilitate the infrastructure and superstructure of the existing line extending from Divriği to the Kars border and carry out the electrification and signaling works. We will hold the tender for the stages from Divriği-Erzincan, Erzincan-Erzurum, Erzurum-Kars on December 22. The construction of the second line of the railway line from Kars to the Georgian border, for which we recently held the tender with the financing of the Islamic Development Bank, and the electrification and signaling works are ETMIC Project "We will complete it with."

Uraloğlu pointed out that the project will be carried out with the joint financing of the World Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment and Islamic Development banks, and that the tender on December 22 will be held with the international model "FIDIC Yellow Book".

Pointing out that they will carry out infrastructure and superstructure rehabilitation, signaling, telecommunication and electrification works with a holistic approach, Uraloğlu stated that they plan to complete the project in 4 years.

Uraloğlu pointed out that they will contribute to increasing the transportation capacity of the Central Corridor by strengthening the east-west railway connections, and stated that the tender will be made open to international competition and that the work will be completed and started as soon as possible.

Stating that the technical and financial offers for the tender will be submitted to the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments in a sealed envelope until 14.30 on December 22, Uraloğlu noted that the technical offers will be opened at 14.45 on the same day.
