DMM on the Maritime Jurisdiction Agreement between Turkey and Libya

In the statement made by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications' Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM), it was stated that the posts on some social media accounts regarding the issue contain clear disinformation aimed at manipulating the public.

The statement emphasized that this agreement, signed by two sovereign states to protect their legitimate rights, went through the approval processes of the party countries and came into force in full compliance with international law and the principles of equity, and the following was noted:

"Targeting Türkiye by those who are trying to turn the Eastern Mediterranean into an area of ​​conflict and making unlawful dispositions in maritime jurisdictions to which it is not a party is an attempt to cover up their own violations. Turkey continues to be in favor of peace, stability and equity in the Eastern Mediterranean, as always and everywhere. It is strongly requested not to rely on the unfounded claims of those who trample all kinds of laws and norms in the region, targeting the legitimate agreements of sovereign states."
