Exports to EU countries approach $82 billion TU

According to information compiled from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) data, Türkiye's exports increased by 5.2 percent in the January-September period this year compared to the same period last year, rising from 200.5 billion dollars to 210.9 billion dollars.

During the said period, exports to EU countries increased by 3.9 percent, from 78 billion 445.4 million dollars to 81 billion 486.8 million dollars. Thus, Türkiye's exports to EU countries increased by approximately 3 billion 41.4 million dollars in the said period.

In the January-September period, the highest export among EU countries was to Germany with 15 billion 438.5 million dollars. Exports to Germany increased by 4.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Germany was followed by Italy with 9 billion 616 million 54 thousand dollars, Spain with 8 billion 282 million 135 thousand dollars, France with 7 billion 900 million 110 thousand dollars, Romania with 5 billion 491 million 31 thousand dollars, the Netherlands with 5 billion 457 million 921 thousand dollars and Poland with 4 billion 830 million 699 thousand dollars.

On a value basis, Germany, Italy, Spain and France continued to be Türkiye's largest export markets in the EU. Total exports to these 4 countries reached approximately 41.2 billion dollars in the January-September period.

During this period, exports increased to 17 of the EU countries, while a decrease was recorded in 10 of them.

During the said period, the automotive industry stood out among the sectors in exports to EU countries. The sector that increased its exports to the EU the most in terms of value in the January-September period was the automotive industry.

Exports of the automotive industry to EU countries increased by 4.8 percent in the 9 months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year, increasing from 21 billion 891.3 million dollars to 22 billion 948.2 million dollars.
