Golden season in acorns: The nets are full in the Black Sea, the most ber of recent years

While there is an abundance in bonito fishing this season that has not been seen for many years, fishermen expect this abundance to last until the end of November and to yield productivity in anchovy, chinakop and bluefish fishing for the rest of the season.

Fishermen, who are happy that the hunting season has started with the abundance of bonito, want citizens to consume more fish this season.

Metin Akçay, President of Istanbul Fisheries Brokers Association (İSKOMDER), said in his statement that hunting had been done for more than 1.5 months and that they had a very good season.

Stating that they encountered an abundance of bonito during this period, Akçay continued his words as follows:

"This season's abundance will continue. We expect it to last another month. I have been in the market since 1987, this is the first time we have encountered such fishing since then. It was in 2005, but this year it is really abundant. In other words, it is happening both in the Eastern Black Sea and in the West. Everyone benefits from this. Citizens will also consume plenty of fish. They will consume it cheaply and feed it to their children and children."

Metin Akçay stated that an acorn weighs an average of 800 grams and is sold in supermarkets for between 40 lira and 60 lira.

Akçay stated that bonito is currently the most caught and that they expect anchovy to be abundant this year and said:

"Along with bonito and anchovy, we are expecting plenty of bluefish and bluefish this season. When everything like conditions, weather and climate come together, our seas become productive. We are hopeful for the rest of the season. As I said, we will have bluefish and bluefish after bonito. Then our anchovies will continue. Fishing will hopefully continue until the fourth month. As bonito is a seasonal fish, it will continue until the end of November. Our hope is to find it in December."
