Merkezefendi Mayor Doğan was suspended from duty

In the written statement made by the Ministry, it was reminded that an investigation was being carried out against Doğan by the Denizli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crimes of "taking bribes", "tender rigging" and "extortion".

In the statement, it was stated that Doğan was arrested by the decision of the Denizli 2nd Criminal Judgeship of Peace and the following statements were made:

"Denizli province Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a temporary measure in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipality Law No. 5393, upon her arrest by the Denizli 2nd Criminal Court of Peace dated 31.10.2026 and numbered 2026/469."
