Minister Bayraktar: Gas production in the Black Sea
Minister Bayraktar made evaluations in the TRT News live broadcast after Osman Gazi, Türkiye's first floating production platform, was sent off from Filyos Port to Sakarya Gas Field.
Emphasizing that they witnessed a historic day, Bayraktar said that the production in the Black Sea will double with the commissioning of the Osman Gazi Floating Production Platform.
Drawing attention to the technical and engineering aspects of the project, Bayraktar said, "The production facility of the first phase was on land. This time, we brought the technology to a different point and we will process the residual gas at sea on our floating production platform. We will press Filyos from a distance of 170 kilometers and from there, hopefully, we will take the gas we produce to our homes and workplaces." he said.
Minister Bayraktar pointed out the importance of domestic resources in a period of global energy crisis and noted that drilling ships continue their activities in the Blue Homeland and Somalia to both increase current production and make new discoveries.
Stating that they are carrying out an intense energy diplomacy and that he came to Zonguldak after the World Petroleum Congress in Saudi Arabia and the Russian Energy Week in Russia, Bayraktar said the following regarding the goals of the Turkish Petroleum Joint Stock Partnership (TPAO);
The goal for us is very clear, to increase production to 1 million barrels per day. We see the clear picture in front of us until 2028, but we are working hard to reach that 1 million mark. We will do this with new discoveries. Hopefully, we want to share good news from Gabar in this sense, we are working hard; It's not at that stage yet, but it's on its way. In addition, our overseas activities and partnerships continue. We became a partner in the Kirkuk fields, and we are working intensively on other projects in Libya and Africa.
