Minister Bayraktar: Our goal is daily oil production

Minister Bayraktar, in his speech at the farewell ceremony of Türkiye's first floating production platform Osman Gazi, held at Zonguldak Filyos Port, stated that the developments in the world increasingly reveal the strategic importance of reducing foreign dependency on energy and developing domestic resources.

With this understanding, we continue our investments uninterruptedly to both secure our energy supply and meet the energy needs of our economy in a sustainable manner. On the one hand, we want to increase our existing reserves in the Sakarya Gas Field and bring them to our country in the most efficient way, on the other hand, we continue our drilling activities to make new natural gas and oil discoveries in different parts and regions of the Black Sea.

Today, Türkiye is a country with the world's fourth largest energy fleet, with 6 deep-sea drilling ships, 2 seismic research ships and support ships. There is a Türkiye that produces natural gas in the depths of the Black Sea, oil on the snowy peaks of Gabar, and searches for oil on the African coast in Somalia, beyond the borders of the Blue Homeland. However, we did not come to this point easily. We went through very difficult tests. Despite implicit or explicit embargoes, all kinds of obstruction, slander and double standards, we held tightly to the ideal of a fully independent Türkiye in energy. We overcame these obstacles one by one with the self-confidence revolution, one of the biggest revolutions carried out by our President in our country.

In this way, our national company, Turkish Petroleum, has doubled its production to approximately 300 thousand barrels, especially with new discoveries in the last 5 years. Our goal will be to increase this figure to 550 thousand barrels in 2028, but hopefully to 1 million barrels per day. I wholeheartedly believe that we will achieve this together. That is why Türkiye continues its searches intensively in Iraq, Azerbaijan, Somalia, Pakistan, Hungary, Bulgaria, Oman and Libya. We are determined to make our country a regional leader and a global player in this field with our own ships, our own engineers and technicians and our own equipment. Today, we are sending our Osmangazi Floating Production Platform, which is the most concrete sign of our determination and ideal, to its place of duty. On behalf of our entire nation, I would like to express my gratitude and gratitude to all my colleagues, engineers, technical teams and our 7 thousand workers who contributed to this great project.
