Minister Institution: COP31 Green Zone will be the epicenter of climate solutions

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Turkey, which continues its preparations for COP31, will host the event on an area of ​​approximately 1 million 100 thousand square meters, of which 527 thousand square meters is the "Blue Zone" and 582 thousand square meters is the "Green Zone".

In the Blue Zone, world leaders will discuss the future of the climate, and in the Green Zone, the implementation of this negotiation will be shown. Thus, the Green Zone will be central to the "implementation COP" vision of COP31.

In this context, the implementation of thematic topics such as how green energy is used, how zero waste is managed, and where food comes from will be demonstrated to the participants on the field.

On the other hand, the Green Zone will be a living ecosystem beyond a classic fairground, where investors, entrepreneurs, technology developers, local governments, universities, non-governmental organizations and young people can come together to develop joint projects, establish new collaborations and make climate solutions visible.

In this direction, Zero Waste, Climate Finance, Energy and Transportation, Science and Technology, Resilient Cities, Green Industrialization, Culture and Civilization, Business World (TOBB), Start-up Zone and COPArt thematic centers will be created in the region.

The Green Zone will not only be an area where stakeholders in Türkiye meet, the European Union will also be present.

Thus, the projects carried out by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Türkiye will be brought to the field, and international parliamentarians and local governments in Europe will come together in Antalya.
