Minister Işıkhan: The future of working life is joint labor
Bakan Işıkhan: Çalışma hayatının geleceği ortak akılla şekillenecek

Minister Işıkhan, in his speech at the "Common Agenda of the Labor World on the Way to COP31" program held in a hotel, reminded that Türkiye will host the 31st Conference of the Parties (COP31) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change for the first time in November under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Stating that the green transformation agenda is becoming more intense day by day with the fight against important risks such as global warming, extraordinary natural events and the decrease in biodiversity, Işıkhan underlined that with the spread of climate change measures and digital technologies, new concepts have entered the agenda of business life, as well as in all areas of social life.

Işıkhan pointed out that green transformation, supported by increasing digitalization processes, brings about a number of multi-dimensional changes, especially in sectors that cause excessive pollution in economies and use resources intensively, and continued as follows:

"For this reason, the Digital and Green Transformation and Just Transition perspective are among the most important topics of today and the future. These concepts continue to change and transform production processes, ways of doing business and the skills required by professions. While new employment opportunities emerge in areas such as renewable energy, electric vehicles, automation, artificial intelligence and circular economy, the structure and working conditions of existing jobs are also changing and transforming. The effects of this change lead to different results for employees, businesses and regions. Employees with limited access to new technologies and skills, businesses with lower adaptation capacity "And regions concentrated in certain economic activities may face different challenges in the face of transformation."

Minister Işıkhan stated that their main goal is to manage this transition process with a fair system, leaving no one behind, and to take measures that will facilitate everyone's adaptation to the process.

Işıkhan said that they aim to implement a holistic and proactive approach in line with the Türkiye Century vision, taking into account the realities of the country and without ignoring the capacity and adaptability, and said:
