Minister of Internal Affairs Çiftçi: We collected all stray animals
Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi answered questions regarding the agenda in Lider News live broadcast.
Reminding that the 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations (UN) Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31) will be held in Antalya on 9-20 November, Çiftçi said that he went to Antalya recently to see the work in this context on site.
Stating that the conference will take place in an area of 1 million square meters and that they, as the Ministry of Internal Affairs, are responsible for the security of the area, Çiftçi said, "Nearly 100 heads of state and government, 200-300 ministers will come. 20 thousand delegations are expected to come. In addition, 100 thousand visitors are planned daily. Therefore, it is necessary to plan and evaluate the security of each of them separately. As the Ministry of Internal Affairs, our General Directorate of Security, Gendarmerie General Command, Coast Guard Command have taken quite extensive measures. 26 thousand people are on the field. "Our personnel will be on duty. We have plans and security measures both by land, sea and air." he said.
Çiftçi pointed out that they planned the same measures for COP31 as at the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit held in Ankara, and continued as follows:
"Antalya is the center, the core. The provinces around it are at the first degree, the provinces around it are at the second degree. Again, our border and port provinces are at the third degree. In all these provinces, security, public order, terrorism, fight against narcotics crimes, fight against cyber crimes... All our teams are intensifying the measures towards Antalya. The routes that the leaders will take to the hotel from their arrival at the airport, the routes they will use from the hotel to the area where the Climate Summit will be held... All of these are planned. Our police officers are at the airport 24 hours a day." "We have divided the areas where leaders, heads of government, ministers and delegations will stay into 5 regions. We will have approximately 1,500 special operations personnel and around 3,298 traffic police officers. We have planned everything in detail."
Minister Çiftçi explained that crimes are no longer committed only on the streets, but have shifted to the cyber world.
Emphasizing that they evaluated the possibility of cyber attacks during the summit, Çiftçi stated that there are Departments of Combating Cyber Crimes within the General Directorate of Security, Gendarmerie General Command, Provincial Police Departments and Provincial Gendarmerie Commands, and that these teams continue their patrols in the cyber world.
Underlining that the Coast Guard Command is planning the measures in Antalya, Çiftçi said, "They will take the necessary precautions at sea with our 207 personnel. Our corvettes, assault boats, helicopters, Special Operations teams... They will also be on the field. They have made all their plans against any possible incident that may occur at sea." made his assessment.
