Minister Tekin: We are considering filing a lawsuit against Meta

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin made statements and answered journalists' questions upon his return from his visit to the United Arab Emirates.

Emphasizing that they attach importance to the subjects related to Türkiye's heart geography in the curriculum more carefully and carefully, Tekin reminded that they also included an elective course on the Turkish world in the curriculum.

Minister Tekin stated that after the Organization of Turkic States Summit, issues such as establishing a common teacher information network and establishing a common measurement and evaluation mechanism were discussed, and reminded that they published the books "Hakan and Bilge's Journey to the Turkish World" and "Turkish World Cultural Atlas: Bilge and Hakan's Journey Beyond Time".

Stating that they will translate these books into the languages ​​of 5 Turkish states, Tekin announced that they will present a copy to the leaders if the translations are completed by October 29.

In response to the question about security measures in schools, Tekin explained that they categorized the measures to be taken and said, "Our most basic measure is to increase guidance activities in schools. We created a training content regarding this with guidance counselors. Then, we took some measures on the Ministry Management System of our Ministry. In other words, we activated the warning measures. There are some measures we need to take in a pedagogical sense, such as this, we took them." he replied.

Stating that they have taken measures together with the relevant ministries, such as assigning security personnel or police in schools, patrolling police squad vehicles, and renewing security cameras, Tekin said:

"Social media is not something we, as the Ministry of National Education, can control. Even though we ban mobile phones in schools and warn students about social media, when the child goes home, he locks himself in his room and uses social media. Therefore, one of the important issues that needs to be done here is that social media producers, both content producers and social media companies, should be responsible in this regard. Because similar events took place all over the world, for example, in Europe and America at the beginning of last week."
