Ministry of Foreign Affairs: We will protect our rights in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean without compromise

The Ministry made a written statement regarding some allegations made regarding Türkiye's Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean policy.

In the statement, which referred to the statements of a political party chairman, it was emphasized that Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan did not give an interview to a newspaper published in Greece.

It was emphasized that the answers given by Minister Fidan at an event organized by a think tank in Brussels were distorted and completely taken out of context, making Türkiye's Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean policy the subject of political polemics.

In the statement underlining that there has been no change in Türkiye's views, the following was noted:

"There is no change in Türkiye's views, which it defends with determination and in accordance with international law on all platforms. From now on, we will continue to protect our legitimate rights and interests in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean without compromising, as we have done so far."
