New era IN installment sales TO the Ministry OF Commerce

In the statement made by the Ministry on the subject, it was stated that a new regulation has been put into effect in order to ensure uniformity of practice regarding installment sales of goods and services in retail trade and to quickly implement the regulations in line with current needs.

In the statement, it was noted that with the amendment, the Ministry was given the authority to determine the installment periods and impose additional restrictions on the installment sales of goods and services made to consumers by retail businesses, excluding housing, and the following was noted:

"Thus, it is aimed to harmonize the regulations regarding other installment methods in the retail sector, in line with the decisions taken by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Board (BRSA) regarding the installment periods of sales made through credit cards, shopping loans and consumer financing. With the amendment made in this context, the Ministry will be able to implement the necessary regulations quickly and effectively following the decisions taken by the BRSA."

In the statement, it was pointed out that with the new amendment, it would be possible to carry out the regulations that may be needed in installment sales applications for consumers within the framework of current economic conditions and in full compliance with the decisions taken by the BRSA, and that the decisions to be taken in this context will be announced on the official website of the Ministry and forwarded to the relevant higher professional organizations.
