Sea snail exports exceeded 14 million dollars

According to the information compiled from the data of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB), 1298 tons of sea snails were sold to 9 countries as fresh, chilled, frozen, canned and other processed products in the January-September period.

14 million 220 thousand 783 dollars were earned from this export.

In the same period last year, 10 million 676 thousand 250 dollars of income was obtained from Türkiye for exporting 1017 tons of sea snails. Thus, sea snail exports in the 9 months of the year increased by 28 percent in quantity and 33 percent in value compared to the same period of the previous year.

During the said period, South Korea, China and Spain were the countries with the most exports.

Sea snails worth 4 million 373 thousand 954 dollars were exported to South Korea, 3 million 933 thousand 880 dollars to China and 3 million 126 thousand 62 dollars to Spain.

Apart from this, sea snails were also sold to Japan, USA, Taiwan, France, Italy and Ukraine during this period.

DKİB Chairman of the Board of Directors Selçuk İskender said that the increase in sea snail exports in the 9 months of the year is pleasing for the sector.
