Sonars and drones are on: Floodwaters in Istanbul

In the work carried out under the coordination of Istanbul Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD), search and rescue teams are working to reach the missing people in the stream beds and the points where the streams flow and in the Golden Horn region.

Volunteers gathered at the Disaster Coordination Center established in Kemerburgaz in order to carry out the work in a coordinated and effective manner also support the teams.

While the teams are intensifying their work in the stream beds in Kağıthane, Cendere, Alibeyköy and Ayazağa, the points where the streams flow into the Golden Horn are also being searched.

Drones and sonar devices are also used in search efforts.

On the other hand, dozens of license plates belonging to vehicles surfaced after the flood waters receded in Cendere. The collected license plates were left on the sidewalk.
