AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements regarding the Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) meeting held at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Çelik wished God's mercy to Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Dündar Ziya Gültekin, who lost his life as a result of a traffic accident in Düzce, and said that after this loss, some very ugly and painful posts were made on social media.

Çelik emphasized that they condemned the organized emergence of such hate speech in response to the news of his death.

Stating that many political parties have published messages that are extremely common sense, respectful of human sensitivities, and aimed at sharing this painful loss, Çelik expressed his gratitude to these parties.

Regarding the participation in the party at the MKYK Meeting, Çelik said, "Today, our MP Cemalettin Kani Torun Bey, with whom we have been companions before, has rejoined our party. We welcome him to your home. Mr. Kani has done very important work in Africa, he is a very valuable friend of ours. He has given great effort to the work there. From now on, I hope he will continue to continue these works in his own home in our party."

Çelik stated that there were many requests for participation in the AK Party from both mayors and deputies, and that the authorized boards of the party examined this meticulously, and that they would see many participation requests at the level of deputies, mayors and municipal councilors in the coming period.

Stating that Bodrum Municipal Council Member Asuman Gülsoy has also joined the AK Party today, Çelik said, "All these are approaches that show that the AK Party and the People's Alliance are the reliable address for Türkiye's future, and that the AK Party and the People's Alliance represent Türkiye's will to both solve the problems posed by the new world and to move towards the future."
