Success from T10X to T6X: Togg put 126 thousand vehicles on the roads in 4 years
Togg is also pioneering the new e-mobility industry taking shape around it, as one of the most important steps towards making Türkiye a global technology and production base in the field shaped by electrification, mobility and autonomy technologies.
The "brave men" who came together at the call of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan founded Türkiye's Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG).
The first signatures for the domestic automobile were made in 2017 with the joint initiative of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Anadolu Group, BMC, Zorlu Holding and Turkcell. The domestic automobile project was implemented with the aim of reaching a globally competitive position with the competencies to be gained in electrification and autonomy technologies in the changing era.
After the domestic automobile project became concrete, experts working in Türkiye's global technology and industrial companies were called to duty. Mehmet Gürcan Karakaş was appointed as TOGG's top manager.
As a result of all these initiatives, Türkiye's first electric domestic car was introduced at the program held in Gebze on December 27, 2019, with the participation of President Erdoğan.
After the introduction of the domestic automobile, work was accelerated for the factory establishment, which is one of the important stages of the transition to mass production. In order for the project to be implemented and the car to meet users, mass production had to be started.
The construction of the factory, whose foundation was laid in 2020 in Bursa's Gemlik district, continued rapidly.
Togg Technology Campus was opened with a ceremony on Republic Day, October 29, 2022, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the landing of Togg's first smart device, C-SUV, from the mass production line was celebrated at the opening.
