The business and finance world will come together at the summit to be organized by TOBB at COP31

According to the written statement made by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), "COP31 Business and Investment Summit" will be held on 12-13 November under the coordination of TOBB, within the scope of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) to be held in Antalya on 9-20 November.

The summit, where more than 1500 participants from more than 55 countries are expected, will host a wide participant profile ranging from international chambers of commerce and industry to global companies, from financial institutions to investment funds, from development banks to technology companies.

The summit, which will be held with the theme "From Ambition to Delivery", will focus on transforming climate commitments into feasible projects and financing.

At the summit, issues such as decarbonization of industry and green industrialization, access to capital for climate investments, resilience of cities against climate change, participation of SMEs and developing economies in transformation, sustainable food systems and circular economy will be discussed.

The recommendations to be put forward at the summit are aimed to create a road map for public, private sector and international collaborations that will continue after COP31.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, whose views were included in the statement, emphasized that Türkiye's hosting of COP31 is the result of the vision and determination put forward under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that Türkiye is at the center of the global climate agenda and said:

"Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, has seen the business world as a partner of this process, not a spectator, from the very first day. Thanks to this door opened to the private sector, the business world is at the negotiating table for the first time in the history of the COP. The climate issue is no longer just an environmental issue, but a matter of economy, investment and competition. It is the business world that will implement the transformation. Companies, banks and investment funds from all over the world will talk here about the way to turn commitments into projects and projects into investments. Our goal is clear, "As the Turkish business world, we are proud to take on this responsibility to make COP31 a turning point where climate goals are realized with the power of the business world."
