The Central Bank will announce its interest rate decision on October 22

The Board, which will meet under the chairmanship of CBRT Governor Fatih Karahan, will determine the seventh interest rate decision of the year. Following the meeting, the interest rate decision will be announced along with the Board's reasoning at 14:00 on the same day.

At the last MPC meeting held in September, the bank decided to keep the one-week repo auction interest rate, which is the policy rate, constant at 37 percent.

At its September meeting, where the bank left the policy rate constant at 37 percent, it kept the overnight lending interest rate at 40 percent and the borrowing interest rate at 35.5 percent.

In the decision text published after the meeting, it was stated that leading indicators pointed to a decline in the main trend of inflation and that the weak course of domestic demand continued.

In the announcement, it was pointed out that energy prices due to geopolitical developments pose an upward risk on inflation, and it was emphasized that the tight monetary policy stance will be maintained until price stability is achieved. The Board also gave the message that the monetary policy stance would be tightened if there was a significant and permanent deterioration in the inflation outlook.
