The number of houses, half of which have been transformed with the Bizden Campaign, has exceeded 123 thousand

According to information received from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, urban transformation works carried out for the renewal of the building stock in Istanbul, which is at risk of earthquake, continue.

Since 2012, 1 million 298 thousand independent sections throughout the city have been included in the scope of transformation by the Urban Transformation Directorate. The transformation of 1 million 7 thousand of them has been completed, and work continues on 291 thousand independent sections.

The work carried out for the renewal of risky buildings in 39 districts of Istanbul aims to provide citizens with earthquake-resistant and safe houses.

The urban transformation process, which begins with the detection of risky buildings, continues with demolition, project planning, licensing and construction of new buildings after the agreement of the rights holders.

In this process, within the scope of the "Half of It is on Us Campaign", which was implemented to ease the financial burden of citizens and accelerate the transformation of risky buildings, the transformation process has been initiated in 544 thousand 564 independent sections so far.

Within the scope of the campaign, the number of independent sections whose transformation was completed, which was 117 thousand 914 as of September 22, reached 123 thousand 396, an increase of 5 thousand 482.

The duration of the Half is on Us Campaign, which came into force on February 22, 2024 in order to accelerate urban transformation works in Istanbul, has been extended for another year.

The new end date of the campaign, which was previously planned to end on December 31, 2026, was determined as December 31, 2027 with the regulation published in the Official Gazette.
