The number of participants in BES is aimed to reach 19 million

According to the 2027 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, the appropriation of the Financial System Development and Insurance Program will be 103 billion 765 million lira this year, while it is planned to be increased to 126 billion 655 million lira next year.

The appropriation in question was foreseen as 147 billion 807 million lira for 2028 and 167 billion 22 million lira for 2029.

According to the budget proposal, the number of BES participants is expected to reach 18 million 400 thousand by the end of the year and 19 million in 2027. This number is aimed to be increased to 19 million 500 thousand in 2028 and 20 million in 2029.

Within the scope of the plans, financial literacy will be expanded in order to increase domestic savings and savings awareness. Long-term savings tools will be developed. Standard retirement investment funds in BES will be redesigned to produce more added value for participants' savings.

Fund diversity in the Automatic Enrollment System (OKS) will be increased to take into account the different risk perceptions and preferences of the participants. Arrangements will be made to simplify deductions. In this context, the attractiveness of the system will be increased and the fund amount and number of participants will be increased. Mutual fund and savings life insurance will be expanded. Financial education activities will be increased and financial literacy will be disseminated in all segments of society.
