Turkey is expected to jump the ranks in world tourism revenues
Türkiye'nin dünya turizm gelirlerinde sıra atlaması bekleniyor

According to the compilation made from the 2027 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, emphasis is placed on studies carried out to develop and diversify tourism potential and increase added value in the sector.

In this context, while 9 billion 339 million 479 thousand liras were allocated to the "tourism development" program in the budget this year, this amount was planned to be 12 billion 121 million 204 thousand liras for 2027.

Türkiye, which has increased its revenues through efforts to develop tourism, is expected to move up the international rankings next year.

According to international tourism revenue data published by the World Tourism Organization, it is estimated that Türkiye will finish 7th this year in the ranking of world countries.

It is expected that Türkiye will become the 6th country with the highest tourism income in the world by 2027, with its increasing revenues in this field. It is calculated that by 2028, Türkiye will be the 5th country with the highest tourism income in the world.

Türkiye broke a record with its tourism income of 65.2 billion dollars last year, and the target for 2026 was set as 68 billion dollars. However, due to the impact of the war in the region, this target was revised to 65 billion dollars.

In the Medium Term Program, the tourism income target was determined as 70 billion dollars for next year, 73.5 billion dollars for 2028 and 78.5 billion dollars for 2029.

With its breakthrough in the tourism sector, Türkiye has risen from 8th to 4th in terms of the number of tourists since 2017, and from 15th to 7th in terms of tourism revenues.
