Turkey produced 70.3 percent of its electricity from domestic sources in September

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the installed capacity of renewable energy increased to 80 thousand 315 megawatts in the same period.

Thus, while the share of renewable energy in the total installed power reached 63.1 percent, the share of domestic resources in the total installed power was recorded as 72.1 percent.

In September, the total installed power of solar and wind energy increased to 43 thousand 762 megawatts. The share of these two resources in the total installed capacity increased to 34.4 percent.

On the other hand, 31.79 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced during this period. Hydraulics continued to take the largest share in production. 8.27 billion kilowatt-hours, corresponding to 26 percent of the electricity production in September, was obtained from hydraulic resources.

While solar-based electricity production was recorded as 4.32 billion kilowatt-hours with a share of 13.6 percent in September, wind-based electricity production was 3.84 billion kilowatt-hours with a share of 12.1 percent. Thus, the total electricity production value from solar and wind was 8.16 billion kilowatt-hours in September.

In the same period, renewable electricity production was recorded as 18.10 billion kilowatt-hours with a rate of 56.9 percent, and domestic electricity production was recorded as 22.35 billion kilowatt-hours with 70.3 percent.

"As our installed capacity is gradually increasing, we have reached a very significant localization rate in electricity production. In September, we met 70.3 percent of our total electricity production with domestic resources. Thus, we have reduced our dependence on foreign sources in electricity production to below 30 percent. We will further expand our power in the field of electricity, where we already have a significant power. Thus, while strengthening our security of supply, we will make our domestic and renewable resources an important tool of our economic development."
