2.3 million lira fine to Ardeşen Municipality for causing environmental pollution

Following the complaints made to CİMER, teams from the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change carried out an inspection in Fırtına District of Ardeşen district.

During the examination of the camera records, it was determined that the waste collected by the garbage trucks donated to Ardeşen Municipality by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in order to prevent the disruption of services in the city, was dumped in the said area in violation of the procedures and principles. It was determined that waste in the area was stored wildly without taking any environmental precautions, and there were Fırtına Creek and houses and workplaces near the area.

In the Transfer Station data sent monthly by the Rize Special Provincial Administration to the Rize Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, it was seen that no waste was sent to the facility by Ardeşen Municipality in September. An administrative sanction of 2 million 346 thousand TL was imposed on Ardeşen Municipality due to the detected violations.
