Despite regional crises, Türkiye continues to grow in tourism
Bölgesel krizlere rağmen Türkiye turizmde büyümesini sürdürüyor

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, in his statement in the city where the Turkish Culture Road Festival is located within the scope of Antalya activities, said that Türkiye faces regional crises today as in the past, and that these risks may continue in the future.

Drawing attention to the Russia-Ukraine War, the war in Iran and the developments in the Gulf region, Ersoy stated that Türkiye maintains its stability in the region with its foreign policy, contributions to peace and strong structure.

Explaining that they have made a change in strategy regarding the way the tourism sector is affected by crises, Ersoy stated that in the past, during crisis periods, the season was closed and the next year was waited, but now this approach has changed.

Ersoy stated that they have taken steps to increase the resilience of the sector against crises since 2018, and emphasized that the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, established in 2019, played an important role in increasing product diversity, developing new markets and promotional activities.

Stating that there were reservation cancellations after the start of the war in Iran, but the losses were compensated with rapid steps, promotional activities and sales campaigns, Ersoy said:

"Knowing the requirements of living in the region, maintaining our stability in a way that has increased our immunity against crises, we continue on our way with the goal of always growing. This year, in the third quarter of this year, we achieved a tourism income of 25.5 billion dollars with an increase of 5 percent. In the 9 months of the year, we reached an income of 51.3 billion dollars with an increase of 2.4 percent."

Stating that Türkiye stands out with international organizations, Ersoy stated that COP31 will be held after the NATO Summit and Formula 1 will be held in Türkiye next year.

Emphasizing that COP31 brought significant gains and investments to Antalya, Ersoy said that road and infrastructure works were completed in Serik, Belek and Aksu regions within the scope of the organization.
