Legal action was taken against 121 suspects in smuggled and counterfeit liquor operations

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, simultaneous operations were organized throughout the country, under the coordination of the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Directorate of the General Directorate of Security and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, to prevent the trade in smuggled and counterfeit alcoholic beverages and the illegal sale of ethyl alcohol used in the production of alcohol.

During the operations, 5 thousand 754 liters of smuggled and fake alcoholic drinks, 44 thousand 677 liters of ethyl alcohol, 1017 bottles of smuggled and fake alcoholic drinks and 821 flavors were seized.

In addition, 6 pistols, 3 shotguns and 182 cartridges were seized during the operations, and 9 factories producing illegal alcoholic beverages were exposed.

While judicial proceedings were carried out against 121 suspects within the scope of the operations, approximately 95 million lira tax loss was prevented with the work carried out.
