3.1 million expectant mothers prepared for birth in pregnancy schools

According to the information compiled from the Ministry of Health data on the occasion of "October 1-7 Normal Birth Week", comprehensive health services are provided in order to protect the health of mothers and babies, to support expectant mothers from pregnancy to postpartum, and to carry out the birth process in a safe and qualified manner.

Within the scope of the Pregnancy School Program, it is aimed for all pregnant women to have information about the prenatal, birth and postnatal period and to give birth consciously.

Expectant mothers and fathers are provided with knowledge and skills regarding normal birth, pain management and parenting roles.

In pregnancy schools, 772 thousand 236 pregnant women were educated in 2023, 1 million 22 thousand 738 in 2024, and 939 thousand 538 pregnant women in 2025. In the first 6 months of 2026, 397 thousand 658 pregnant women were reached.

Thus, from 2023 to the first 6 months of 2026, a total of 3 million 132 thousand 170 pregnant women were educated in pregnancy schools.

Regular monitoring of pregnant women is carried out within the scope of the prenatal care program carried out to protect the health of mother and baby.
